I also have the same problem. I posted a longer reply on the other tumri.net

Yes - I do not use AOL as a Browser - Anytime Screen is up to View - Read or Write mail the tumri.net screen comes up.

Here is the OTL File Requested

I see that it lists Blekko as my Default search provider – this is NOT by intention. I dont know how to get rid of it or where I got it.

Thanks MIKE

I will be away from the computer for a couple hours ( Labor Day Holiday Family Thing ) – USA Pacific Coast Time Here – Will check in as soon as I get back - thank you

Home - Later than planed Almost 3 AM here - I will sleep for at least 6 hours - Ive been Reading other threads - Is this an AOL issue ? or something we can fix ? Thanks

Mike – are you still having problems? It’s almost 9 am here in Texas and I have had no trouble since last night. BTW this is an AOL issue and I’m wondering if they may have fixed it. Right before the tumri.net popped up I noticed some giant ads on my aol welcome screen that I don’t normally have. Good luck. Susie

Blekko is in the Chrome browser only and the homepage/search engine will need to be changed manually

I believe it is an AOL problem as the download is coming from your mail client

Finally back to computer –

Thank you both for the Updates – Yes all seems well today.

essexboy - if you saw any other potential issues in my logs I am available to work with you and would appreciate any suggestions.

Thanks for the Help.

No the only problem I noted was the Blekko toolbar which I removed from IE and FF

I would suggest that when Avast 2014 is released in a few months that you uninstall Avast before installing the new one as you have an old installation that has been upgraded 3 or 4 times now

How is the computer behaving otherwise ?

All seems Normal – I have spent a little time before replying to use - open - close stuff and all seems normal.

My Known issues are:

Slow Startup,
and
I was getting a Blue Screen Crash after extended use, while using Firefox with Excel and Word open, I would notice that when I clicked on a link it would do nothing. I also would see image carryover when jumping amongst open programs. ( Example - switching from Excel to AOL - the AOL Screen form comes up but the Email window has the Excel Grid in it or the part of an image from my photo editor the was in the same area. If you continued to try to use it the computer would crash - the blue Screen message telling that igxprd32.dll was the issue. It would make a complete memory dump. It relates to Intel graphics and seems to be a known issue. There are no driver updates. I did some reading and have recently reduced my graphics acceleration setting and disabled DirectDraw and Direct3D accelerations. Have not had issue since but I have also been shutting down computer more often than I was.

Its not running too bad for as many miles as it has on it.

Thanks again

Subject to no further problems

I will remove my tools now and give some recommendations, but, I would like you to run for 24 hours or so and come back if you have any problems

Now the best part of the day ----- Your log now appears clean

A good workman always cleans up after himself so…The following will implement some cleanup procedures as well as reset System Restore points:

Run OTL
[*]Under the Custom Scans/Fixes box at the bottom, paste in the following

:Commands [resethosts] [emptytemp] [CLEARALLRESTOREPOINTS] [Reboot]

[*]Then click the Run Fix button at the top
[*]Let the program run unhindered, reboot the PC when it is done

Run OTL and hit the cleanup button. It will remove all the programmes we have used plus itself.

: Keep Java Updated :

WARNING: Java is the #1 exploited program at this time. The Department of Homeland Security recommends that computer users disable Java
See this article and this article.
I would recommend that you completely uninstall Java unless you need it to run an important software.
In that instance I would recommend that you disable Java in your browsers until you need it for that software and then enable it. (See How to diasble Java in your web browser and How to unplug Java from the browser)

Now that you are clean, to help protect your computer in the future I recommend that you get the following free programmes:

Malwarebytes.

Update and run weekly to keep your system clean

Download and install FileHippo update checker and run it monthly it will show you which programmes on your system need updating and give a download link

If you use on-line banking then as an added layer of protection install Trusteer Rapport

It is critical to have both a firewall and anti virus to protect your system and to keep them updated. To keep your operating system up to date visit
[*]Microsoft Windows Update

To learn more about how to protect yourself while on the internet read our little guide How did I get infected in the first place ?Keep safe

My Apology for being slow to finish - All still is running well –
If all goes well tomorrow with a project that I have been working on for a couple weeks, I will be able to complete the instructions and Reboot.

Thanks

Time is not a problem

All Went Well – Running Good. Thank you so much for the patience and the Help.

Thank you for the Tips. Will watch for New Avast Version.

What will I Notice or Loose if I disable Java ?

If you do not play online games then you will notice no difference at all

Hello - Went through the list of recommended procedures – I did disable java since I do not play any games.
I’m now frequently seeing a Small Circle with a Fancy Font F in it on many pages. ( Amazon - Intellicast (weather forecast ) etc. The F turns to a Circle with right arrow when passed over and I can click to see what its linked to. Is this because java is disabled or is this from something else.
Thanks

Hmm never seen anything like that could you give a quick screenshot
