TURN OFF HARDWARE ASSISTED VIRTUALISATION Still running in background.

Please can you help. I cant seem to turn off Avast’s hardware assisted virtualisation on the Free version of Avast Free Antivirus. My Oracle Virtual Box partition software that I use for older software has started to crash again with the message, “Oracle VM Virtual Box Virtual Box Guru Meditation…critical error”…and then I have to allow it to close or it just freezes.

Oracle Forums advised me to change the settings on my Avast Virus software - go to Menu at top - Settings - Troubleshooting - TURN OFF HARDWARE ASSISTED VIRTUALISATION and this worked a treat - my Oracle software worked well again.

It was great - everything worked but for the last 2 days I have received the same messages and it crashes again.
I tried disabling Avast’s Virus shields but that didn’t help. I uninstalled Avast using their ASW CLEAR tool and then my keyboard wouldnt work so I had to restore my PC to a previous date. I ran Virus software and Malware checkers and all seems fine - I just cant get my accounts on Oracle Virtual box to work and its causing stress.

I have a Windows 7 (64) and attach a log file for my Oracle Virtual Box - but there seems to be a conflict so I wonder if AVAST have added something in the background that stops me turning off the assisted virtualisation. I can click on the box to turn it off and restarted the PC but still it keeps blocking Oracle - who now advise me to ask for help here with Avast.

Thanks again,
Max

Hi, you could try the latest beta: https://forum.avast.com/index.php?board=15

Thank you - I tried the Beta but unfortunately it didnt solve my problem. My copy of Oracle Virtual box is 3.2.0 from about 10 years ago- so its an older version and I am not technical enough to dare try and setup a new version (the old one was setup by a technician and I will mess it up if I try myself).
I tried ASW Clear Avast to remove the AVAST software as a test to see if Oracle works when Avast is removed but all that did was cause a problem with damage to the registry and my keyboard stopped working. I used a restore point to roll back my PC and the keyboard is fine again.
I would like to remove or update the Avast ASWCLEAR software (version 7 from 10 years ago  but I dont know where to find it to remove it - it isnt listed under Windows settings progs install /remove - just AVAST itself.
Sorry to ask for help and pester - everything worked great until recently even though (like me) it is old
