On two computers with the latest avast 2016 build…
win 7 64 bit
Participate in the avast community is off
enable reputation services is on
Disable all shields and everything is fine
connect back to the internet and everything is fine
Evidently Avast is not picking up that there is no internet and doesn’t just allow things to open normally

Some users of v2014.x.x.xxxx have needed to reboot more than once.

Thanks but not really cool with betas. I’ll wait until they release it.
It may be a “beta” but in actuality it’s more stable than 2016.
If you don’t want to try the newest version try a repair…
Control Panel>Uninstall a Program>double click “avast”>click “repair”>reboot
Some users have needed more than one reboot.
