I have the home version.
The voice that announces updates BLASTS my speakers since Vista does not have good sound control.
I am watching TV on my PC and Avast BLASTS my speakers and may possibly be damaging them
How do I shut off the voice update announcements?

right click avast system tray > program settings > sounds > check disable avast sounds.(see pic)

Would be nice if the page said Voice and Sounds since those are distinctly different audio events.
On a PC, sounds normally referr to bells and whistles.
