Turning Avast a/v off

A simple question, How do I turn off Avast temp so I can install some graphic drivers.
regards

There is such an option in the very bottom of the avast! tray icon popup menu.
However, there shouldn’t be any need to turn off anivirus protection for installing something.

I would have thought that this was un-necessary (confirmed by Igor) and I would be extremely wary if it was recommended, I would also ensure that I was 100% sure of the source and the driver.

However, your system your choice/risk, you can pause the standard shield, the resident on-access scanner (avast help file). Double click the avast ’ a ’ icon, select the standard shield provider and either pause or terminate (don’t forget to enable it after) or select Stop On-Access protection (all), same process to Start.

A graphics driver update may well require a reboot and your AV should be active then.

Thanks, the drivers (forceware) concerned are from Nvidia’s site.

I have in the past changed nvidia forceware drivers and I didn’t disable avast.
