Turning Behavior Shield Off

Hi,

Long shot here… but just curious… Any way to turn Behavior Shield OFF and keep the Task bar Icon in its original state?.. Of Turning when its scanning…

I have Vista x64 and dont really need it and also heard of the Many issues it has w/ World of Warcraft… thus wondering what else it conflicts w/… thus i have it turned off… but my task bar icon doesnt like it much… and went to a Static / non moving icon… with a Yellow Triangle and an exclamation mark… telling me my system is not fully protected…

like i said… long shot… but any way to turn off Behavior Shield and Keep the icon moving?.. perhaps for next version :)…

maybe 5 isnt ready for prime time…and i should roll back to 4.8…?

thanks.

It is simple.

Just turn off the Behaviour shield

Go to settings

Click Status bar

Uncheck Behavior Shield

Click OK

Wow … im an Idiot… :). Thanks Chris…

Just my 2 cents… but you would think it if you disabled a specific shield permanently… ( not the 10 min… etc… )… that it would automatically remove it from effecting the status bar…

i guess a slim chance exists where you might want to “Disable a shield permanently”… temporaily… but thats kinda what the other options under disable are for…arent they ?

Thanks again…

This also applies even if you disable Behavior shield permanently

Yes i did it like that, no need here (because behaviour shield does nothing on 64bit machines _ as i understand? )

Correct. However, it is just the absence of rules that prevent the shield from doing anything. The technique itself is working. So I wouldn’t recommend to turn it off.
Just leave it enabled, and as soon as Alwil sees the need to apply rules for 64bit, it is there and ready to work with just a normal VPS update.

You are right, better to let it enabled in case avast update it for 64bit

What is shown or alerted by the status bar or icon is set into Settings > Status bar, regardless of temporary/permanent disabled shields.

If you really dont want it then just initiate the ‘change/update/remove’ installer and change your installation so it DOES NOT include the BeHav shield. This was how I dealt with the ‘scipt’ shield and NEVER having to know its not on…even updated just fine.
