Twitch app chat cannot connect after installing Avast Premium Security

Hi
After installing Avast Premium Security the Twitch app gets cannot connect to server every 5 seconds or so and the chat in any stream can no longer connect. Uninstalling Avast solves the problem

I have tried turning of all shields, same problem. Tried making exception or adding Twitch to apps.

Windows 10 build 2004

Set the Avast Firewall to private mode and reboot.

Tried setting network to private but did not help. I can not even activate Avast with my code, it says i have no internet although twitch stream is running (no chat). Turned of all shields and firewall. I did install secure browser but removed it again to troubleshoot.

Turns out discord app is also not working while Avast is installed. Both discord and Twitch works fine in browser.

  • OS…? (32/64 Bit…? - which SP/Build…?)
  • Other security related software installed…?
  • Which AV(s) did you use before Avast…?

Hi, could you please uninstall the “Real Site” component and “Restart” your device.

Hi, It is generally recommended that you keep Real Site on.
Could you install the component again and see how it works.
If it is still causing issues, then please try to set an exclusion for Real Site as explained here: https://support.avast.com/en-ww/article/188/#idt_070 (instead of just adding the URL, include the acronym “dns” as well - not sure if you did it this way)
