When trying to access Twitter either by using twitter . com or x . com, I get it’s blocked because of URL:Phishing. It happens in Firefox and Chrome.
No issue here and Firefox is my default browser.
A screenshot of the Avast Alert window with the Details option selected might help.
It started blocking it after I did a virus definitions update and ran smart scan.
First ensure that you have the latest Avast Program version and Virus Definitions are also up to date.
Were you actually trying to connect at that URL in your screenshot ?
I don’t know what the /?mx=2 is for if that is the issue (are you aware of it and were you trying to connect to that ?).
I tried connecting to the URL in your screenshot and it didn’t alert, it just redirected me to the main domain requesting I login or join, but no alert.
I have been having trouble attaching my image to the last post.
So here goes again.
I feel really dumb. On the log in page, down at the bottom, it has a pop up saying they changed the URL I did a google search, and they changed it to x.com.
I can only connect to it if I also use ?mx2= It will not redirect or connect without it. I have no idea what ?mx2= is or means.
I apologize for my post. I should have done more googling before I posted.
Not a problem, happy that you have found the cause.
That’s still really weird because i’m not getting that issue. Granted, i’m using Chrome, but if I use twitter . com it just redirects me to x.
