Two Errors in Log After installing Avast! Home

Greetings.

I received the following two errors the day I installed Avast! Home 4.8

1219465051 SYSTEM 1936 Internal error has occurred in module basEncodeFileToRootkitSubmit failed! , function 00000002. 1219481711 SYSTEM 1924 Internal error has occurred in module basEncodeFileToRootkitSubmit failed! , function 00000002.

Since then, I haven’t had any more. Is this something I should worry about?

Thanks for your help!

I have no idea what this is basEncodeFileToRootkitSubmit, apart from avast do you have any anti-rootkit tools that run on boot ?

Whilst avast has an anti-rootkit module (runs 8 minutes after boot) it isn’t named module basEncodeFileToRootkitSubmit, however a google search for basEncodeFileToRootkitSubmit doesn’t return many hits and all mention avast in the info. So it might be something to do with an avast rootkit scan.

The error 00000002 is The system cannot find the file specified, which isn’t so critical and if it hasn’t reoccurred I wouldn’t be too worried, but just monitor the situation

risingTide, did you get the “Suspicious file detected” message (dialog box) at that time?

Intriguing.

First off, I don’t have any other Anti-root kit programs installed so it would have to be Avast!. Secondly, I actually did get exactly 2 “Suspicious files detected” when I first installed Avast!. So are you thinking that is what this is all about? If so, I know those files were okay now, so I think I’m all set.

Thanks for your help!
