I’ve had trouble with my PC at home. I found a website that was very helpful who recommended that I use avast! security at home rather then my current antivirus protection.
Following along the same line of thinking, I thought (and still do) that avast! mobile security would be good for my Samsung Galaxy S2. I read alot of reviews of alot of different programs but nothing I read could dissuade me from this opinion.
With this in mind, I decided 2 or 3 nights ago to download the software but I have since noticed a massive battery drain. I googled the problem and came a topic on this site although it did not seem to have a final resolution.
There are actually 2 problems. Apart from the battery drain, when I try to activate the anti theft, it tells me my Mobile Security is too old and to please update it. Even though I only downloaded the program 2 days ago, I used the update checker and it told me I had the latest you-beaut Security.
Looking at my “Running Apps”. I have all these apps running half of which I didn’t even know I had, remember installing or came with the phone. Sometimes, there are even 2 copies (Bluetooth for example) and both are running.
How do I know what each app is for. For example, there is an app called “Buddy+”…I DID NOT install this app.
When noticing the battery drain, do you currently have any commands running? I.E. CC SMS/CALLS/ALL or continuous tracking? these are huge battery eaters and should be used sparingly. But you are right, there is a noticeable difference with AVAST AT running
