Two Problems

Problem #1, your system to verify email accounts to get on this Forum is not working. I clicked on the link in the email, came back to try to log on, said Unverified Account and wouldn’t let me log on. I went back, re-read the email it says CLICK ON LINK TO VERIFY ACCOUNT, which I had done. Tried again said Unverified Account. Signed up again and again got an email, clicked on link, tried to log on said Unverified Account. Did it a third time, says, Unverified Account. Thought ok, maybe it’s not automatic and have to wait for a HUMAN to click a button. Waited until now, tried to log in, says Unverified Account. So decided to copy and paste the link into my browser instead of clicking on the Link and now I’m here. Evidently the HTML Coding int he Link is in error and not properly routing responders to the proper web page.

Problem #2 has to do with Avast FREE…

Yesterday I tried to use my Photo Editor, Corel Paintshop Pro X4, and it opened up but shortly after I started working on my first photo it locked up. I brought up the Task Manager in Windows 10, and it says Corel X4 Not Responding. I thought maybe it was a glitch in Corel X4 which I’ve been using several times a week for the last 4 years with no problem. Then I remembered I still had Corel Paintshop Pro X3, the previous version still installed on my computer and tried to run that. Same thing, comes up fine but as soon as I started to work on a photo, locks up, check Task Manager says “Corel Paintshop Pro X3 Not Responding”. Corel has just released their X8 version so thought ok, maybe they did something in an upgrade to try to push sales for their X8 version. I contacted them to see if maybe they had sent out an update recently and that may have changed something in the programs to cause the issue. The first thing out of their mouth was trying to sell me the X8 version which I can’t afford. So I said the heck with this and downloaded GIMPshop a very good and FREE Photo Editing program, installed it, tried to work on a photo and, same thing, stops responding. So 3 out of 3 photo editing programs stopped working all at the same time. I started by uninstalling every piece of software I’ve installed over the last 2 weeks, finshed that and still locking up. Out of curiosity, I unistalled Avast and lo and behold, all three Photo Editing Programs are now working flawlessly.

What exact version of avast and vps ?
What OS ?
Is it happening with all type of images (e.g. bmp, jpg, gif) ?
