Apparently my computer is infected with the w95.spaces virus. It will not boot not even safe mode. tells me to reinstall windows. I can not find my boot disk. How do i rid my puter of this darn thing.
Avast is my only av. :-[

What leads you to the idea that avast is guilty for this…? Anyway, try booting to safe mode (keep pressing F8 at system boot to access the boot menu, and then choose ‘Safe Mode’).

What Operating System do you use? If i remember correctly, that virus only infects/work under windows95. So if you have Win98/ME/Nt it could be possible that you are not able to start again. If you use still FAT/FAT32 Bootpartition you can boot to dos(or use a bootdisk) and replace the infected files with the orginals or use a DOS Scanner. If you have NTFS Partitions you can ask for Avasts Bart CD!
Does Avast still have a Version for Dos?

just format your harddisk and instal everything back included avast! because its the greatest vrius remover!!
