u-search.net browser hijacker got me good. need help!

i was using the program called Groovedown to get music. now I see that it causes viruses and avast didnt notice…

i got some u-search.net browser hijacker. but i think its really fcked this computer. i need it fixed asap because my gf uses the machine for school work.

basically i got win7 x64 SP 1
running avast! pro/internet security (paid)

i can only use the computer now if it is in safe mode with networking. when I try to start the machine normally, nothing but the background of light blue and the mouse pointer loads. i have unfortunately tried restarting the machine about 4-5 times trying to see if my attempts to rid the machine of the infection worked. i know that in most cases restarting a computer when it has a virus makes the virus worse. this is why i wont be restarting again until i can hopefully get this fixed.

i downloaded TDSSKiller and rkill from bleepingcomputer.com as suggested by many forums, but i still cant get the problem fixed.

as of now i have not been able to run a full system scan on this machine using avast! but I will start it asap.

any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

anyway, mediafire works fine :wink:

but OTL log must be posted as a download txt file …as that is the one the malware remover will use to create the fix…if he see something that needs to be fixed :wink:
