Hi,
between uBlock Origin and AdGuard which one do you recommend in general in terms of privacy, lightness and reliability?

uBlock Origin
My own personal preference would be Adguard, the browser extension has easy to understand options to enable/disable and great blocking capabilities with just the Adguard filters on their own or can add many 3rd party filters
If you require system wide blocking Adguard for Windows might be a better choice, though it’s a paid option unlike the free browser extension.
+1
uBlock Origin is better since it is a content blocker, although Adguard (extension) is not bad.
It depends :
Personally I use uBlock Origin with Firefox, on Windows and Linux.
But AdGuard (Pro) is a very good alternative with Safari on iOS.
Greetz, Red.
Personally I use uBlock Origin in combination with uMatrix.
Hi DavidR,
Isn’t it a pity then that uMatrix has been discontinued? This as the developer jumped ship.
I run a combination of the two and no conflicts whatsoever, overlapping results,
just like avast and drweb’s extension combined in one browser.

Yes but it is still usable once you have it installed and you can continue use it an add/block/allow sites.
Yep, I still run it also, but I hope someone will jump in and continue development or start a fork.
I think developers are afraid of further restrictions coming for Chrome and chromium-like browsers (almost all browsers are),
even firefox cannot be finetuned anymore to avoid Internet-broad click-tracking as it would be. It has been taken out of the settings (about:config). Google and the Big Data Slurpers are calling the shots really and end-users have no say in the matter.
The last browser that has this as far as I know it, is Brave (also having a tor modus).

I prefer AdGuard as Craig said above, I also have AdGuard on my iPhone as well
You can buy a lifetime license directly from AdGuard website.
I use uBlock Origin
uBlock Origin as long as it will last.
From 18th of January onwards ad-blocking inside a Chrome or chromium-based browser (almost no other flaw of browser exists now) through extensions will be a per site permission to ad block scheme, making it very hard for in-browser ad-blockers to function.
A long term wish of Google, facebook and others. “So-called free and private- and-secure” will come with a heavy price-tag, all of your privacy.

I hope American watchdogs will stop this. I for me sorry to hear this news.
Is American Big Data Tech our enemy in never-ending-supremacy-greed or what?

Info from Raymond Hill (uBO Dev): uBO works best on Firefox…!! 8)
