While that is true, practicing safe computer habits in any OS will cut down on your chances. It also helps if you are not hard headed and think about things for a couple of seconds, the whole “Linux doesn’t get virus” thing only applies if you are careful of what you do with it, Not going to questionable sites, not staying in root more than you have to (If allowed by your distro), don’t install programs from unknown sources, and being careful about using Wine. If these simple steps are done daily then your Linux box will stay clean and your only need for any anti virus program will be for scanning Windows, Emails, or set up with Simba.

I do agree with you, it would be nice if the Linux version was up to par with the windows port.
