I am having an issue with avast free 2015 on my windows 7 box. When I get a popup from avast it appears in the taskbar and acts like it is pinned. From the image provided you can tell that it is not pinned and when I try to close it from the taskbar it does nothing.
It now seems that there is a popup that goes over whatever window I have in focus.
I talked to a security expert at my workplace and he said that if it asks for personal information or money that it it probably some sort of ransomware. He said that no legitimate program would act like this is acting.
I think I downloaded this copy from ninite.com. Is there a possibility that the version they link to is infected?
