As the title states, I’m having a bit of trouble. I was updating avast! when my computer had a BSOD. Well, when I restarted, I went to update (because I wasn’t sure if it had updated or not), but discovered that it had updated. The problem is that the UI is displaying that I haven’t updated. Also, when I checked the definition files (in Windows Explorer), I noticed I had both yesterday’s definitions (December 11th’s) and today’s definitions (December 12th’s), but the aswdefs file was set for yesterday’s definitions.

What should I do?

Also, I do have a screenshot showing what’s wrong. I’ll post it if need be.

Hi,

Please update us with the current avast! version in your computer.

It’s avast 6.0.1367.

Having files from more than one definitions update is not uncommon. Avast cleans itself once in awhile.

Since you had a problem when you originally installed avast, I would suggest anyway to perform a repair of avast from add/remove programs and then reboot.

ShadeWing, whenever I’ve had this problem repair has always fixed it. If it doesn’t, wait till it’s time for another update and update through the control panel and restart.

I just had it update a little bit ago and it appears that it’s fixed itself. I guess the BSOD might have temporarily thrown it outta whack and when I shut down my computer and restarted it, that fixed it.
