When my avast scaneed my computer (Windows XP) it detected a virus named Win32:Trojano-1165[trj] and when i tried to delete it as it said , it said it could not be proceesed since its being used. Then after it was detected again i tried to move to chest but it could not be processed again. I actualy found this at my temp files the actual file and i tried to delete it but it said its being used with another file. I closed all the windows except the folder and tried again and it didnt work. Can someone tell me what to do or how to forcably remove this?
Can you schedule a boot-time scanning?
Start avast! > Right click the skin > Schedule a boot-time scanning.
Select for scanning archives.
Boot.
If infected files are found, it’s safer to send them to Chest instead of deleting them.
This way you can further analysis them.
Access denied means, generally, that the file is in use by another process (program) and cannot be repaired/cleaned/moved/handled by avast!
The report file is created automatically in \Data\Report\aswBoot.txt
I have same problem. I will try the sameway then.
Here is a shot of the final screen :

but since it is in restore, I am unsure it will work. Plus I see no interest in this restore repertory. It takes 4 GO on a 30 GO HD, so I would be please to have it freed. Is it possible?
Hope this helps
Now to get you off to a good start we will re-set your restore points so that all the bad stuff is gone for good. Then if you need to restore at some stage you will be clean. There are several ways to reset your your restore point but this is my method:
- Select Start > All Programs > Accessories > System tools > System Restore.
- On the dialogue box that appears select Create a Restore Point
- Click NEXT
- Enter a name e.g. Clean
- Click CREATE
You now have a clean restore point, to get rid of the bad ones:
- Select Start > All Programs > Accessories > System tools > Disk Cleanup.
- In the Drop down box that appears select your main drive e.g. C
- Click OK
- The System will do some calculation and the display a dialogue box with TABS
- Select the More Options Tab.
- At the bottom will be a system restore box with a CLEANUP button click this
- Accept the Warning and select OK again, the program will close and you are done
