Unable to Access Web after installing 4.6.623

I just installed Avast 4.6.623 on Windows XP Pro w/SP2. I am not able to surf the 'Net.

I am on a SMC Barricade with its firewall enabled (I have the Windows Software Firewalll DISABLED). I’ve scanned my system w/ no problems (but found some Trojan viruses, most of which are now in the Chest). I can’t even access my SMC config page (which is a browser-based app). I can ping most anything.

I read the FAQ about allowing traffic through 80, but I’m not sure a) if this applies to a hardware firewall, and b) if so, how to do it there.

Hi and Welcome cls1chuck,

Does disabling avast solve this problem?
Are you using any kind of software firewall at all?
Are you using any other Proxy software?
