I have changed my email address, so I made the SMTP setting changes in SOA but the email notification still goes to the old address. Where exactly are these SMTP settings stored so they can be manually changed?
You should change the user email address too.
Perhaps I should spell it out…
Avast! Endpoint Protection Suite Plus and Small Office Administration is loaded on a Windows Server 2012 R2 Essentials standalone server.
In SOA Admin:
I changed my SMTP Server Address
I changed my Server Port
I changed my email address
I use authentication so I changed my username and password (to work with new email)
I use SSL
I double-checked in Advanced Mode to make sure the changes were accomplished.
Making the above changes did NOT change the notification email from going to my old email address.
What has to be changed to update the email address of the daily notification email?
Perhaps I need to clarify.
The avast! SOA reports are sent out to a list of recipients specified in the Job settings.
By default the only address that the emails are sent to is the email address of the ADMIN user.
So, you need make sure that the ADMIN user of the management console has your email address.
The settings on the SMTP settings page are irrelevant to the recipient of the reports.
Well, the Admin user email address was changed to the new email address at the same time I made the changes to the SMTP settings.
By default the only address that the emails are sent are NOT to the email address of the Admin user!
I bet I have to manually change the email address in SOA, Jobs, Scheduler (remove old email recipient and add new email recipient). I have made this change, I’ll wait and see if the email is sent to my new address.
I manually changed the email address in SOA, Jobs, Scheduler (remove old email recipient and add new email recipient).
I then manually generated a report.
This worked!
