Unable to communicate with Avast support (solved)

My wife’s computer suddenly begin getting a popup notice that she had the demo version of Avast Home edition 4.7, and that it would expire shortly unless registered. The program had been in use on her computer for 6-9 months. Her about Avast screen showed demo mode.

Despite repeated attempts to re-register by completing registration and resend forms, we have never received a reply from Avast. Our email addresses are correct, Avast register and support emails are on receive lists. The server is not full of emails.

Her computer is an old PII running XP and connected to the internet and a home network through a Linksys router. We have no problem with email from other sources.

With the program expiring and no response from Avast, her original program was un-installed and the latest version of Home Edition downloaded from the Avast website a few days ago.

However, we are still having the same registration problems. Repeated numerous registration and resend forms have been sent again for the new program without any response, including several sent from my computer (separate email address). I by-passed the router for one trial to eliminate it.

In addition, I emailed support@avast.com on Nov 2nd relating the problem and asking for advice without any response so far.

We like this program and truly appreciate Avast for providing it, but we need help to get over this registration hurdle which seems to be a communication problem. We would appreciate any advice on this matter.

Sincerely,

Jess Webb

You got the key from us this week:

Your question was replied by our supportman today. There is a time difference resposible for the delay:

You also wrote on Nov 2 and you were replied by the same tech.

You should probably again check all your email/spam settings or check with your ISP, all the info needed (msg ids etc) should be contained in above log excepts.

Problem solved!

Thank you. It was a filter on my end. Avast was OK’d, but not name@avast.com.

Thanks again.
