I’m unable to create Rescue Disk. I tried creating both - USB and .iso. However, avast just displays, “Downloading toolkit…” and does nothing.
I’m using Avast Free
Program version: 12.1.2272 (build 12.1.3076.6)
Virus definitions: 160724-0
OS: Windows 10 Pro
Is there a way to do this from the command prompt?
If you aren’t happy in using a beta build, I believe I have seen something in the forums about disabling the avast self-defence module - avastUI > Settings > Troubleshooting. I could be wrong but it is worth a try
This may resolve the issue as a temporary workaround until the fix gets into a regular program update. Enable the self-defence module when done.
Thanks for the confirmation, it was mainly for those who might not feel comfortable using a beta build, but wanted to use the create rescue disk function.
As long as the function works, I create a new rescue disc (USB), each time a new version of Avast is released.
Doing this makes sure the function hasn’t broken again and, the newer the version of the rescue disk is, the better.
