received updater with passcode does not work, not really very good is it. Asking for help from Avast virtually impossible.

First, I’m an Avast user and not an Avast Team member and I don’t use the Avast Driver Updater.
I’m not really sure what you mean by passcode. Do you mean password or the subscription code doesn’t work ?
A screenshot of the error might help, if the password or subscription is the cause ensure that you partially obscure the password/code so as no to expose it in a public forum.
