I get this message - unable to download driver - avast! firewall NDIS miniport #585. Anyone got any to idea of how to cure this problem?
hey are you uing the latest version of avast? have you tried a repair of avast? a clean installation of avast?
To fix this acknowledged issue please temporary disable the avast self defence module. You will then see in a few second your NDIS miniport entries disappear. Windows may ask you a restart if needed. After that enable again the Avast self defence module.
No need to disable the self defense module.
Repair…Control Panel>Uninstall>double click "avast>scroll to and click “repair”>reboot
Clean install…download and save to HDD the latest version of avast http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=108170.msg856869#msg856869> download and save to HDD the uninstaller tool http://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility >reboot into safe mode (press F8 repeatedly)>run uninstaller for each version of avast>reboot into normal mode>install avast>reboot.
