Unable to download free version 5

I have tried a few servers to download free version 5 (I already have version 4 insalled) without success. (starting with cnet). Each time I get the same message… server xxx is not available, try again later. They can’t all be down, what is wrong?

Try this direct link - Avast! Free AV: - http://files.avast.com/iavs5x/setup_av_free_eng.exe (English only version), right click and select Save As or Save File As depending on your browser. Save it to somewhere on your system where you can find it later.

Instad of multilingual version you should find some Avast 4 links (in case if something went wrong) :wink:

I appreciate you may want to help, but suggesting finding links for avast 4 certainly isn’t helping, as that version will be redundant in the not to distant future. The OP has come here with a problem in obtaining version 5, so lets concentrate on helping them do just that.

I agree with David. In addition, the support (virus definition updates) for Avast 4 will be ending in the near future, so installing Avast 5.xx is the appropriate thing to do. Thank you.
