Unable to fix, repair threat- SVC: Oasis2Service > C:\...\Oasis2Service.exe

Hello,

I use Avast Free Antivirus.

With no prompting from Avast, I did a Quick scan and Full System scan and 1 threat appeared.

SVC: Oasis2Service > C:.…\Oasis2Service.exe
Threat: Win32:Evo-gen [Susp]

I chose to fix it and it said that it was postponed for reboot, I then tried repair and it said the same thing.
When I tried to move it to the chest, nothing happened and one time I got an error.

I ran Malwarebytes Antivirus and nothing was detected.

I can’t seem to be able to find a solution to this issue, I would appreciate any help anyone can provide.

I hope I attached all the necessary information.

Thanks.

upload and test file at www.virustotal.com if tested before, click rescan for a fresh result. Post link to scan result here

Oasis2Service.exe http://www.systemlookup.com/O23/5755-Oasis2Service_exe.html

Thank you for your quick reply.

Does this mean that it really isn’t a threat/virus and if so, do I just continue to ignore whenever I do a scan?

Have you tested file as i said? … post link to scan result

Report it to avast as False Positive https://support.avast.com > avast virus lab

Pondus,

Thanks for the help and your patience in working with me to get this sorted out.

I’ll let Avast know.

It is a Sony -VIAO file, however they have not signed it

essexboy,

Is there anything I can do or should do on on my end?

If Avast has not put it in the chest then do that yourself (it will only be a copy) and upload as a false positive

TO UPLOAD TO Avast FROM THE VIRUS CHEST

Right click the suspect file
Select Submit to Virus lab

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/73555776/Virussubmit.jpg

A form will appear
In the dropdown box at the top select potential false positive

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/73555776/submitform.JPG

In the second box copy the link from this thread
Finaly tick the I know what I am doing box
Click submit and then manually update Avast to send it

essexboy,

Okay.

Thanks for taking the time to make the suggestion and providing the steps to do so, I really appreciate it.
