Cannot enable autofill in settings, get the following error
‘failed to open settings for avast autofill’
Have looked on the web but cannot see anyone else reporting this.
I have also uninstalled passwords and reinstalled it, but still no joy !
Have you rebooted the device to see if it makes a difference ?
Have you synchronization enabled ?

I’m using Android version 6.0.1 and was trying to use the inbuilt “Internet” browser. The error appears when you go into Settings/Language and input/Avast Autofill
According to the FAQ that browser isn’t supported.

Perhaps that has something to do with it.
But wait and see if someone with more knowledge than me about avast passwords says about it.
Strangely it was working fine on my Samsung tablet before I upgraded it to the latest Android version. Now I’m getting the same error message on the tablet as I’m getting on the phone. I agree that it seems that the inbuilt Android browser isn’t supported - I was just surprised that the error message was appearing under settings, unless maybe that is linked in someway to the inbult Android browser …

we were supporting auto-filleven for Samsung Internet Browser, but then Samsung release a new version of mobile browser and unfortunately our auto-fill feature won’t work with this new version right now.
Browsers which we support on mobile platforms are Mobile Google Chrome & Mobile Opera browser. . If you have auto-fill turned on (you can check it in the settings in Android Avast Passwords app), you should see the overlay icon in these support browsers.
May I ask if you see a "failed to open settings for Avast Autofill” message while using the Internet Browser casually, or only if you click on “Avast Autofill” in Settings/Language?
Do you consider to extend supprted mobile browsers (f.e. my favourite CM Browser)? Or will Avast Browser be avaliable for Android?
I have this problem too, getting "failed to open settings for Avast Autofill” when using Settings/Language and keyboard (HTC One N9 - Android 5) I love Avast Password auto-fill, I can use them on PC and my Laptop but my phone
