I am unable to get my old account back even using lost password and have now ended up with a new account. I was previously known as xtinguish but it says that user already exists so I have had to call myself megreater. Is there any way I can reconnect with my old account?

Hopefully by resetting my password, it worked. You guys should try it out ;D

There is no way in not having email address as a username, as whole MyAvast account is based on email address as a username.
If you had same email address in profile here and on my.avast.com, accounts were merged. If you had different or you had not MyAvast account, we created one with the email address from the forum account. Just use reset password option with the email address from your forum profile.
I have tried everything including resetting my password a number of times but cannot get my old (xtinguish) account back. Can anyone merge the two accounts (megreater & xtinguish) please?
Did you receive the reset password link in your email?
I have the same e-mail address for my.avast.com and forum.avast.com. Accounts were NOT merged. Attempts to change my name to the old profile (Cyberpunk) only results in an error message:

Password reset does NOT help.
I received my password reset email but it just takes me to my new username and not my original xtinguish account. Can the two accounts be merged or the new megreater account deleted and the xtinguish one resurrected?

I have attempted to use my existing email address that was tied to MyAvast accout and end up with a newbie account with part of the email I entered as user name.
This email address is visible to Admins and has been my “designated Avast email address” for years.
I did also reset my password and did receive the reset link via email to said email address. The valid/appropriate email address is simply not accessing the schmidthouse profile.
Feel free to PM me with possible resolution or email me to the “schmidthouse” registered email address.

I will not say that i got it working on the first try, but i can use my old account? So it is odd that many here can not? After a few tries i requested a password reset and since then i got my old account back. Now i use lastpass so perhaps it is the reason it works for me, but i sincerely doubt it since i am certain many others here use lastpass as well.

under name: id.avast.com
under username: The email that i use with my Avast account
under password: Well the reset password of course.
Also if any one uses Lastpass, make sure that you only have one avast login in your vault.
I deleted my old gmail account that was registered at this forums,can you help giving me back my orginal account and mailing my password to my new gmail?

I have just about given up trying to get my old (xtinguish) account back. I’ve tried everything mentioned here but no luck. You would think that one of the mods could do this quite easily but so far no useful response. The capcha letters are unreadable so posting takes ages. Please do something about it or you are going to lose members.
Just noticed that do not seem to be gettibg capcha’s any more although only 4 postings.
Capchas are only there for the first 3 posts. (Thank God)
