Unable to install Avast free virsion

History of Problem:
I had installed Avast free antivirus which got corrupt due to interruption in power supply at the time of software updation. Then i uninstalled Avast from my computer through add remove program of control panel.

Problem:
Now when i have download new version of Avast free version from Avast’s website i am unable to install it. Avast get automatically uninstall after partial installation.

Remedies taken:

  • I have also used awsClear to uninstall the old version and files.
  • And physically removes Avast files from Documents & settings>Application Data>Avast and from Program files>Avast Software.

Operating System:
Windows XP Sp2

Please Help to install Avast again!!

do you have any other antivirus progam installed…or had one
if so you should run the vendors removal tool to clear any leftover files that may conflict

avast removal tool here, follow instructions on website, run it for all versions you had and reboot
then try reinstall.
