I go through the installation and have to use the recovery image method. It says installation finished but when i go into anti-theft again it says it is not yet set up!! What am I doing wrong?

You have to set it up, enter username and a password and then activate it. Have you done that?
Somewhere in settings/info, see if it says “yes” under “root”
Is your HTC NAND protected?
