Unable to launch Avast after 4.7.817

Hello,

After making its automatic update to 4.7.817, Avast no longer works. I desinstall and reinstall after looking a lot of topics of this forum.
It doesn’t change my problem.

0 services are running.

Whether I look in the log files, i’ve got the error : Storage query “C:.…\Avast4.db” failed Error description: “CREATE DATABASE failed”.

On Avast4.ini, i’ve got :

ProductVersion=4.7
VersionLabel=Apr2006
ThreadTerminationTimeout=30000
Enterprise=0
Database=SQLT
StorageMigratedOK=1

I saw the topic “Last Build doesn’t work” which correspond to the same failure.

I’ve tried to check the version of MDAC with MDAC Utility: Component Checker.
My version is MDAC 2.8 SP1 on Windows XP SP2. No Problems were found.

Any ideas ?

What does the ellipsis in C:.…\Avast4.db stand for? I mean, what is the full path to your avast! installation folder?

Isn’t your avast installation folder using some non-Latin characters?

An non-latin character was on the path of installation of my version of Avast (è)

BTW the problem will be fixed in the upcoming service release update…
