Unable to open browser in safe zone

I cannot start the browser in safe zone. Please help me to solve this problem
My system configuration is
win 7 home premium 64bit
4 gb ram
I3 processor

thank you

What’s the error message? What happens?

It will not show any error messages. It was working fine when I installed it. from 2 days, when I start the safe zone it starts but browser does not start. that’s it.

Do you have this file in your computer?
\sfzone\SafeZoneBrowser.exe
Maybe something get corrupted in your avast installation.
Can you try to repair your installation?
Go to Control Panel > Add/Remove programs > avast! antivirus > Remove. Then choose Repair function in the popup window (Repair).

Thanks a lot Tech. I repaired it.Its working fine now thank you

You’re welcome. Feel free to come back any time you need help or just to change experiences 8)

My safe zone browser does not work either.
I have avast installed on three computers.
I am routinly forced to uninstall avast then reinstall, just so we can use safezone.
Currently safezone is not working on this machine.
My avast safezone directory does contain the file executable for safezonebrowser.
I have used the repair option in windows add/remove programs - did not work.
Our machines are running Win7 pro/ult 64bit.

Symptoms:
Open safe zone - safe zone opens.
click to open browser - curser turns to busy as if processing request - browswer does not open.

Please advise.

Please, upload (attach) the avast log:
C:\ProgramData\AVAST Software\Avast\log\Setup.log
or C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast5\Setup\setup.log

If the file is too big for the forum, post the last 400-500 lines of it.

I am using Avast Internet Security, not Avast Free. I posted here because I did a search for my issue, and instead of starting a new post… File to big.

Your log seems ok. I can’t really image what is going on…

I suggest an installation from scratch:

  1. Download the latest version of avast! Uninstall Utility and save it.
  2. Download the latest avast! version and save it.
  3. Uninstall avast from Control Panel (if possible). If, for any reason, you can’t run it, try booting in Safe Mode and doing it from there. Anyway, boot after that.
  4. Run the avast! Uninstall Utility saved on 1. If, for any reason, you can’t run it, try booting in Safe Mode and doing it from there. Anyway, boot after you’ve run it.
  5. Install avast! using the setup saved on 2. Boot.
  6. Register your free copy or add the license key for Pro. Or even upgrade your key from old versions.
  7. Check and post the results. If, for any reason, you did not solve, try doing the step 3 in Safe Mode anyway.

Thanks for the response. I will follow your instructions. I have no doubt, this will fix the issue. As I stated in a previous post, I uninstall and reinstall Avast every few months because the safezone always stops working and a fresh install always fixes it.
I highly doubt this is an isolated issue because I experience the exact same problem on the three different PC’s(desktops and laptops) that we use Avast on.
I really like avast and will NOT stop using it. I will simply continue to uninstall and reinstall as needed, if a fix cannot be found.

Also I am Unable to use browser because of:
"the exception Breakpoint
A break point has been reached.
(0x80000003) occurred in application at location 0x5fe1c1d0
Click on Ok to terminate the program.

How can I solve this problem.
Thanks
