Unable to open site without disabling Avast. Exception did not work.

Unable to open site without disabling Avast. I was able to open before today without issue. When I disable AVAST protections, the site opens.
Tried entering an exception for the site, restarted system, no luck.

Website in question: absolute-dogs.com

AVAST 23.6.6070
Windows 11 Pro

No problem connecting using Firefox, see attached image, click to expand.

What errors are you getting ?

Website access before and after disabling AVAST.

The “Problem loading page” on the “after” screenshot is just the open tab of “before.”

I didn’t disable Avast or the Web Shield and no problem connecting.

It isn’t unusual for some sites to occasionally have trouble connecting and not directly related to avast. I have even had it on occasion with the forum.avast.com connection. If I ever have trouble connecting to a site, I check it against - https://downforeveryoneorjustme.com - if the site is down or up that will be reported. So you would at least know the site status.

If it is reported as up - Are you using the a VPN “virtual private network.” ?

I just opened it again but this time it took a little time, but still loaded.
What browser are you using ?

Not using VPN. Have tried Edge, Chrome and Firefox. We’re having an electrical storm at the moment so, shutting down. When it’s over, I’ll try clearing cookies, etc.
Thanks for your help, I’ll let you know!

You’re welcome.

Clearing cookies did the trick. No idea why I could access the site if I disabled AVAST.

Thank you, again, DavidR

Thanks for the confirmation.

Strange that a cookie would impact all the browsers.

If the connection was pushing you to a strange site (and or redirecting), Avast would be trying to check it though not malicious it could result in a hang on the site being checked.
