I am unable to register Avast 7, when I select the ‘Or register free antivirus (base protection only)’ radio button and then click on the big green ‘Continue’ button nothing happens.
I do not have any popup blockers installed, MSE has never been installed. The previous A/V software was Avast 6. This is a fresh install after having performed a complete uninstall of Avast 6 using the special uninstall utility.
Any tips?
Some days ago there were a trouble in the registration servers.
Maybe you can wait a little with the trial version and test again.
Is your avast updated?

Thanks for providing info about offline registration process. I was experiencing the same issue with online registration.
Still have not received the registration key, though!

Hey, have exactly the same problem on Win 7 64-bit, and on a freshly installed system, so it’s definitely a bug within Avast… Hopefully someone will take care if it soon.

btw, if I choose any one of the paid options (Internet Security) the Continue button works just fine… interesting

HI EVERYBODY!!! I EXACTLY KNOW HOW TO REGISTER IT! SEE… AFTER YOU CHOSE THE “Or register free antivirus (base protection only)” THEN CLICK “CONTINUE”, PRESS THE ESCAPE KEY “Esc” THEN THE REGISTRATION FORM WILL LOAD… THEN FILL IT UP, THEN CLICK "REGISTER FOR FREE LICENSE. TA DA!!! HEHE I JUST DISCOVERED IT MYSELF AFTER I GOT ANGRY WHEN THEY SAID THAT I SHOULD WAIT FOR 30 MINUTES AFTER I USED THE OFF-LINE REGISTRATION… WELL GOOD LUCK FOR YOU
