Unable to renew Avast free

I’ve been trying to renew my free plan of Avast, but sadly i keep getting the same intrusive pop-ups which i cannot close over and over again. I try to select free, get an offer (which i am not interested in) but can’t exit it. If i press close, i get taken back to the main screen without any indication my free plan got renewed. I’ve seen older threads for this but couldn’t find a solution. Running version 25.7 currently, Windows 11. Also should add that a reinstall didn’t help me

When trying to renew i get shown this screen first and click the extend option for the free plan, which is indicated by my lovely red doodles

Then afterwards i am shown this screen, essentially forcing the paid version upon me. If i am no longer allowed to use free, then please by all means just inform me of this rather than forcing this upon me. I can’t turn down the offer here, just press the red cross which closes the window alltogether and we’re back to square one

Unable to reactivate Avast Free antivirus

Hello all, One year free subscription of the free Avast anti virus has expired for me so it’s asking me to reactivate. But when I am selecting the free anti virus option it is always leading me to a window asking me to buy an offer. So I am unable to select the free anti virus. [2]

This is a bug that Avast are trying to fix, they released one fix but it didn’t work.

Hi @rocksteady and @DavidR , I’m sorry for the lack of updates on this topic. As of today, we are still trying to fix this issue. It turned out to be more challenging than anticipated due to ongoing changes in our licensing systems.

This is certainly not an intentional experience. Users should be able to extend their free license just fine (in fact, that part is already fixed, but the messaging is still a challenge).

We apologize for the delay in solving the free license registrations. We will keep you posted.

I stumbled upon the latter of the two messages you linked 30 minutes or so back, so i feel a bit stupid for making a new thread of it. But i do find it weird that contact with Avast about these things is so difficult in general. Anyway, thank you for taking the time out of your day to reply to my post here, i hope you have a great day and we can welcome a fix for the issue soon!

I too am an Avast Antivirus Free user for 21 years, so I too am hoping for a speedy resolution.

It has been 8 months since they were working on a fix, but I am still seeing this same behavior.

Which version of Avast AV do you have? Also which version of Windows?
The issue still exists for version 18.5 that was the last version for Windows XP/Vista, hence my questions.

Avast keeps giving me popups about free expiring soon. When I click on the yellow EXTEND NOW button in the main screen, it gives me the option of Free or Premium as shown in OP’s first screenshot. When I click SELECT on the Free option, it opens a ONE-TIME OFFER screen telling me how many days I’ve been using Avast and how many percents off they offer me (52% on Singapore VPN, ), but the only way from there is GET IT NOW or closing the window, which also ends the free renewal process.
