I’m running the free version of Avas! Antivirus. Today, I received an email saying it will expire soon and that I should renew it. I was directed to open Avast, click Maintenance and select Registration, click “Register Now,” select my option, fill in the form and submit it.
When I click Maintenance–>Registration, I get a screen saying my current status is Registered and asking for a license key if I’ve purchased an upgrade (which I haven’t). That’s it.
I see no “Register Now,” no selection of options and no form to complete and submit.
Additionally, under “Please choose your option,” the email I received reflects a link to “Upgrade to Internet Security,” but “Register Free Antivirus” appears as text only with no link.
I’ve searched the FAQs and scanned the forums for help but I’ve been unable to locate anything pertinent. As the instructions in the email I received don’t appear to apply to me, what do I need to do in order to renew? Thanks…
On the main page hasn’t button to fix these problem of registration? If not, I uninstall avast!, download a and fix errors in register by CCleaner software. Then download the new avast! Free antivirus here: http://files.avast.com/iavs5x/avast_free_antivirus_setup.exe
What till you get a pop-up notice in your system tray that your registration is about to expire. Than, open up the Avast GUI, and fill out the new license key form. I got a renewal pop up 30 days in advance, which allows plenty of time to renew.
Thanks, everyone! I’ll wait for a pop-up. I’ll hit the 30-day mark tomorrow, so maybe I’ll get one then.
BTW, when I tried to post this just now, I forgot to do the captcha thing before I hit “Post.” So I backed up and tried the post again with captcha filled in. I was told my message had already been posted. If it had, I sure don’t see it.
