Unable to repair or uninstall + CPU HOG

I noticed that avast was taking up about 30% of my cpu for a couple days now and I was told that an update might fix it. The update got up to about 80-90% and got stuck. Then, when I tried to repair it, the same thing happened and it got stuck again. Then, I tried to uninstall with avastclear and the program just stays on the loading screen. Can someone please help me?

I forgot to mention this my my current version. I’m not sure if it’s up to date but it refuses to update

Hi,

It seems to be up to date.
Could you please clarify what your current issue is?
Perhaps you can add a screenshot of the issue/error.

Well this is odd. If even the avast clear won’t work, i think you really scrued up your installation. Try going in safe mode before running avast clear and see if that works.

This is literally what I am experiencing and why I created a thread. Same exact issue!

100% CPU all the time, with no way to remove or stop avast.

Hi, if you’re willing to help, see: https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=237567.0

Have you restarted the system at least twice?
