I turned on my computer this morning & it is saying “Unsecured” and “that the service has been stopped or is in an inconsistent state”. I am unable to restart or fix the issues, or even run a scan. I have turned off my computer, but still no changes…Please help me!

if they have 100401-0 thats the problem. it is related to dst :
software update confuse with time change 
A VPS update shouldn't have any impact on restarts as it doesn't change any program functions.

That is also unlikely as according to another topic, this is related to a loop of scheduled scans and not avast Restart.
How long have you had avast 5.0 installed ?
Did it work previously?
What version of avast 5.0 have you got, 5.0.462 is the latest ?
Have you tried a repair of avast. Add Remove programs, select ‘avast! Anti-Virus,’ click the Change/Remove button and scroll down to Repair, click next and follow.
Tried that with no success. Anyone have any other suggestions ? I’ve run malware scans. Uninstall / reinstall ??
