Avast deleted one of my programs, and when I followed the instructions to restore it, nothing happens. I clicked on the program in the virus chest, and clicked restore, but the program is still gone. When I go to ‘Global Settings’ to add an exclusion, the program isn’t even listed in the program files. If I uninstall Avast completely, will the sequestered program still be restored, or I will I lose everything? I have a lot of data associated with this program, which I can still see the files for, but not access.
Once you click restore, the program is either restored or, your warned that it’s infected.
If you don’t get the infection warning, then it’s been restored even though a copy remains in the virus chest.
Try rebooting and then see if you’re program now works.
If you use the removal tools, then all of avast will be removed that includes thew virus chest.
There are five files from the program in the virus chest, and despite how many times I click restore, none of them are. I have rebooted, and de-activated Avast, and then rebooted again, and yet none of the files are available. I am very computer savvy, but I don’t know enough about Avast to just uninstall it and hope that the sequestered files are going to be restored, rather than removed with the program.
