unable to scan - Error 20 Not a directory

Hello,
I did a full system scan as I’m currently getting tons of pop-up windows in all browsers.
The scan showed one infection (in an old email, which could then be deleted).
It also showed that it was unable to scan 39 files (according to what I’ve been reading about this in this forum, this is nothing to worry about).
When I look at the files that could not be scanned, I recognize a lot of them and know they’re fine, however, there are 3 files where Avast states: “error 20 not a directory” and I am suspicious about those.
They are called:
/dev/fd/67
/dev/fd/72
/dev/fd/73

Does anyone know what this error message is about and what these files could be?
Thanks!
B

Then i guess you have already seen this http://blog.avast.com/2014/02/28/how-do-i-handle-files-that-avast-cant-scan/

Do you have the full file path.....

/dev/fd/ sounds like a unix/linux to me.

@ Pondus: this is the full file path - that’s what’s so strange about it! Just to be sure, I’ve right-clicked on it and said “copy path” and pasted it somewhere else, but still it’s all that shows up.

@ Eddy: I have a Macbook Pro, so there shouldn’t be any unix / linux files on my computer, right?

Mac … well then you are in the wrong forum section, most of us dont know what a Mac is

Try here https://forum.avast.com/index.php?board=5.0

Well, OSX is based on UNIX. Follow Pondus’ advice and post in the Mac section.

Oh dear! This was my first post, as you might have guessed…
I’ll have a try in the Mac forum section.
Thank you everyone!!!

You’re welcome.
