I am using a Laptop with Intel T7500; 4Gig; Vista Home Premium 64bit SP1;–Logged on as Admin.

Please help

It appears that you have leftover contents from XP on the Vista install. Vista x64 requires a clean install and then transfer of data into the new directories. Vista does not have a documents and settings directory. It also doesn’t have an All User folder like XP but does have hidden “junctions”. This is giving you an access error which is what is causing your log to look like it does most likely.

I forgot to mention that this is a new Latop, with Vista Home Premium 64bit pre-installed. The only new I recently did was to un-install
Norton 360(which came with the computer), and install Avast home edition.

Do you see these directories from the admin account on your c drive? Have you enabled “see hidden folders” on the laptop?

I do not see those folders or files in my computer. The computer is set to show all hidden and system files.

SO why is Avast looking for those Unknown files and folders. I have tried re-scanning several times with sam results.

See here, please.
