Renewed my Avast Premium Security 2 days ago and now I’m suddenly being nagged to buy the secureline VPN in the program and as an annoying popup which I do not want. Been using Avast for a long time and have always had other product offers disabled.
Checked the setting where I have disabled the pop up options in the past and even checked the old options menu from troubleshooting, and under privacy those boxes are unticked that says show offers from our other products.
Same for me since the last update. Avast had better fix this or I’ll uninstall and stick with free Windows Defender. Our paid subscriptions were (in part) meant to stop this advertising.
Have removed Avast, as well as using the Avast clean up tool, reinstalled the latest version and even unticking the offer options nothing changes. Definitely something has been screwed up since the last update because I’ve never seen an ad in a few years until now.
Came here for the same reasons.
If there’s no way to remove the new ads or the new “Upgrade” button while paying for a subscription already, then will be time for me to move away form Avast. Though would be good to also be able to disable the “Mobile” button as that’s just another ad.
It’s understandable to have those ads on the Free version, but not when you’re already paying.
Here’s another ad in addition to the one for the VPN.
Let’s also hope that all the other boxes don’t suffer the same fate, especially this one:
“Share app-usage data with 3rd party analitics tools to improve this app”
it seems to me that this box also applies to avast free users?
For info, it’s solved right now as far as I’m concerned (the offers have totally disappeared from my 3 premium UIs) :o
