Unable to send attachments

I’ve seen other toppics with problems sending attachments but I can not find the solution anywhere…

I am using Eudora and Netscape mail…
Netscape works fine but I can not send larger attachments with Eudora… increasing the timeout does not help!

… Help

Not all the mailers supports large attachments. Please can you say the dimensions of the files you want to send via email?

Couple of questions.

Are you receiving any error messages from Eudora?

What happens if you do the following and then try to send the message again with Eudora?:

In the Internet Mail provider

Customize > SMTP Tab > Uncheck Scan outbound mail > OK > OK

It looks like eudora is sending the whole email . But in the end the next message appears :
"Error reading from network Cause: Connection close by foreign host. (0)

BTW… unchecking the outbound mail option does not help…

All attachments from a few 100 k’s and bigger are blocked

More ideas?? ???

Difficult to help you if: 1- You disappear after posting; 2- You don’t say nothing about your pc specs and the most impostant software running on your machine; 3- You don’t say also if you are using Dial-Up, DSL or Cable. :-\

disappear after posting???

2 - I’m still running win 98 SE
3 - I’m using cable

Can you send and receive emails without attachments?

You have said it doesn’t really matter what size the attachments are, you still have the problem.
What type of file are you attaching, .exe, .doc, .zip, .jpg, etc. ?

How did you set-up your email programs to work alongside avast’s email scanner?
With win98 you need to manually set-up or use the Mail Protection Wizard - check out this thread - User’s FAQ - Mail Protection Wizard thread, it will give you a lot of useful advice.

I can send and receive emails without attachments… no problem…

it also does not matter what file types I try to send… Exe, jpg etc.etc.etc. No attachments are sent…

I have tried manually and I have used the mail protection wizard… Nothing helps…
I can send and receive all emails but when I attach a file…it’s all over

Please send me by mail the log file as described here:

Thank you.

You have new email ;D

I, too, am having trouble using Eudora to send e-mail with any size of attachments. I’m running windows xp, Eudora 5.0 light mode. I’d love to use the avast setup wizard to adjust the settings to work better with Eudora, but I don’t have the setup wizard as an option when I enter the avast! folder from the start menu. Any advice will be welcomed.

The wizard is not needed if you are running Windows XP.

Are you able to send the attachments without problem if you terminate the avast! Internet Mail scanner?

What kind of network connection do you have, dial up or a high speed connection?
