Can anyone please help me with this problem? I just installed Avast 4 Home successfully but whenever I start it, an error message appears about “Application failed to load skin"usiGetSkin” failed. I try to fix the problem from their support like this "If you have Windows XP: RUN
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\REGSVR32.EXE ACTSKIN4.OCX, but I receive an error like this: DlRegisterServer in ACTSKIN4.OCX failed. Return Code was: 0x80020009. Thanks for your help!

try to repair avast installation. To make a repair go to control panel and click add or remove programs, and select avast antivirus and click change/remove a dialog box appears scroll down to repair and click next to repair the avast installation. This should solve your problem.
About the “usigetskin failed” issue, if the repair does not solve it:
You will have to register ACTSKIN4.OCX
Follow the instructions:
Select START > RUN…
Enter the following command:
If you have Windows NT or 2000:
C:\WINNT\SYSTEM32\REGSVR32.EXE ACTSKIN4.OCX
If you have Windows 95, 98 or ME:
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\REGSVR32.EXE ACTSKIN4.OCX
If you have Windows XP:
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\REGSVR32.EXE ACTSKIN4.OCX
If you have Windows x64:
C:\WINDOWS\SysWOW64\REGSVR32.EXE ACTSKIN4.OCX
Press OK (or Enter).
A message saying that the file was successfully registered should appear…
For some reason, ActiveSkin (the 3rd party library avast uses for skinning) does not seem to be working on your system. As a workaround, we may disable skinning in avast - that should solve the problem.
To do that, open the file \data\avast4.ini, look up the [UserInterface] section, and add the following entry:
StartWithSkin=0
Thanks so much for your help. I was about to uninstall Avast but your workaround tip on the file really worked. Thanks again guys! Have a nice day!
Never give up that quickly
