Unable to start SPSS 20

Hi!

After upgrading Avast I can’t start SPSS 20. It displays error not able to connect to local computer. I think it is unable to verify licence to run.
After disabling Avast for a moment SPSS 20 starts and run normally.
I tried to put SPSS Program files folder to exemptions, but no joy.

Can you help me find a workable solution without disabling SPSS?

Hi,
can you please try to enable avast and disable only e.g. network shield, or file-system shield, or web-shield to find out which shield caused this problem?
I should have SPSS 20.0 installer here, so I can verify it.

None of these separate shields does not cause problems.

Hi Damjan,

what is your avast version (Free, Pro, IS)?

In case of IS please check firewall settings:

open avast GUI | Firewall | Application rules | IBM Corp.

All connections should be allowed.
