unable to start Web shield

hello,

tried with new 2233 version.

Always issue with web shield disabled (even after a clean install with tool in SM)
Back again to 2218 and all is right.

Is someone know why avast (2223,2225,2233) start the KB970158.exe/quiet in the end of the install ?
I’m pretty sure there are something wrong with this KB in my winxp-sp3 prevent avast WS install.

I don’t know if it’s possible to re-install this KB or main soft who use it.

Nb:I have an other pc with winxp-sp3 , and avast update was ok.

No problems here, try the following:

Download Avast Internet Security: https://files.avast.com/iavs9x/avast_internet_security_setup.exe
Follow instructions: https://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility (Run this tool for all prior installed Avast versions…!!)
Reinstall Avast with the downloaded installer from point 1.
Reboot.

I know there is something wrong in my pc , but as I said in this post , I have already done more or less 10 times the accurate way to do a clean install.
Now,I don’t want to do a 11th attempt but I would like to understand what is wrong in my config to prevent the latest 3 install versions of avast.

Log I have sent to avast with ticket opened not allowed them to answer me , so I keep the 2218 version again , but one day …

Is there a way to understand how I’am web unprotected.
Not sure avast web shield doesn’t done his job anyway , maybe just an UI issue ?=> look at screen and web shield activity => links seems to be scanned , the number is incremented but the curve remains flat :-
nb:default langage is “french” but I just tried with “english” UI , same : WS doesn’t start.
Is there a false infected link to see how behaves avast ?

ps:of course when I try to turn on WS by overview or by active protection settings , it doesn’t turn on.

No more web shield enabled with bêta, desperately disabled (just enabled few seconds before change to desactivated)
More of that , beta doesn’t recognize my avastlic license file (corrupted or bad signing).
Well , back to 2218 :-[

I wound up going into Safe Mode, did the un-install through Programs and Features, Rebooted, went back into Safe Mode and
the ran Avast removal tool. After a reboot, I was able to install Avast Free 2016 without any further problems.
Everything is now working.

Yet , this is exactly what I did
1-un-installed v2218 , I returned to this release for security reasons (WS out with v2233)
2-used the appropriate removal tools in Safe Mode
3-installed AIS beta 2016 in normal mode => but avast doesn’t want my avastlic file in progress (until october 2016)
Anyway , the main will I have installing beta was to enable Web Shield , and licence or not licence ,this shield turns off immediately after I manually active.

Other big trouble , the special & appropriate removal tool for beta didn’t work when I ran it in SM (just 1/2 second to see avast location folder , then tool UI closed)
nb:others removal tools (for v2233 or v2218) work fine anyway

Now , after a long time spent trying to repair the damage , I hope it will not stay too annoying traces of installing the beta.
Apparently, everything is returned OK with the 2218 release.

I also hope avast support has not forgotten me and my package sent there are 10 days.

3 weeks after reported issue here and 2 monthes after reported ticket , no news anymore ?

Do xp users have specific treatment ?
I can remember the support provided by avast when I had to renew my license 3 pc :-[

by waiting about support answer , I noticed each time I boot my OS or each time I want to activate manualy web shield , I have a system event log error.
In french:

Type de l'événement :	Erreur
Source de l'événement :	Service Control Manager
ID de l'événement :	7000
.....
Le service Avast StreamFilter Driver n'a pas pu démarrer en raison de l'erreur : 
Ressources système insuffisantes pour terminer le service demandé.

Traduct:

The Avast StreamFilter Driver service failed to start because of the error:
Insufficient system resources exist to complete the requested service.

As this message does not appear with avast 2015 v2218, it’s likely that this is the reson of my problem but I have now no idea how to resolve
My config on winxp = PIV 3.2Ghz Ram=2 x DDR2 1G PC3200

oups , I realized it’s not mentioned here (just Here)

.....my old issue I have with 2223 , 2225 and 2233 is already here

but yes , I’m now running 11.1.2241 and it’s the same as 10.0.2223 , 2225 and 2233 => web shield disabled

I would not go astray but during installation ,this version (as 3 latest 2015) launches kb970158_x86.exe / quiet at the end (or with repair) , 2218 didn’t launche and works fine.
