Unable to turn on Firewall after AIS updated

Good day,

Running Windows 7 - Home Premium -64 bit, using Avast Internet Security. This morning Avast updated and told me to restart. Program version updated to 11.2.2255 and shows today’s date. After update and restart Avast told me Firewall was off and to turn it on, which I tried to do with no luck. I went to:

Settings > Firewall > Active Protection > where it says Firewall “Off” and says click to turn on, but it won’t turn on. Then I clicked on Customize which brought up Firewall Policies > Network Profiles, where it showed no networks.

I am connected to a network, I can see that through Windows and can access the Internet, but with no Firewall enabled. Scaps attached.

Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

Laurie

Normally a repair of avast will solve it.
If not, perform a clean installation of the latest avast version.

You do realize that 2016.11.2.2255 is a beta version and that it can have bugs ?

Hi Eddy,

Thank for your response. The switch to the BETA version happened in November when I was having problems with Safezone Browser. I posted (link below) on Nov. 30th asking for assistance and your advice at that time was to perform a clean install and you gave me a link to follow.

I updated via that link and my issues with Safezone were fixed. Prior to that I believe I’d been running a non-Beta version of Avast and didn’t give the change to a Beta version a lot of thought. Yes, I’m aware that Beta versions can have bugs.

So, should I do a clean install of the non-Beta from this link dated Feb. 3, 2016?

Thank you,

Perform a repair first.
If that doesn’t solve it, you can always do a clean install.

As I said, often a repair is fixing things.
It is easy to do and quick
