Hello,
I’m experiencing some problems when I try to uninstall the AVAST free antivirus. I was having lots of issues so I want to remove it and make a clean installation.
When I try to uninstall the program from windows or any uninstalling software, there is always an error during the process.
I’ve even downloaded the Avast Clear uninstaller tool and it doesn’t even work, it shows an error too, even when executed from Windows safe mode:
The stub cannot run uninstaller/updater executable (code 0x3).
I’m getting the same damn problem everytime I try to delete the program and it’s starting to become a pain in the ass to get rid of this software. How is this possible? I never had such problems with any other AC software to be honest. This is getting really annoying.
Thanks.
See instructions here https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=53253.0
Scroll down to Farbar Recovery Scan Tool (second picture) run as instructed and attach the two diagnostic logs

You need to remove any previous installed av before trying to install avast.

Are you now able to re-install Avast ?
I’m getting the same error I mentioned before when I try to uninstall the Avast AV, both from Windows and when I try to use the Avast Clear tool as well. What did that fix supposedly do?
To be honest I just want to get the Avast totally uninstalled asap, I can’t understand why this such a pain in the ass. I never had such problems with any other AV software. Even viruses are easier to remove most of the times!

Yeah I’ve applied the fix in safe mode and then I reboot in normal mode to see what’s going on.
OK run a fresh FRST scan I will see where Avast remains

Pardon me?
Anyway I’m attaching again the logs from the Farbar.
Thanks for your patience.
OK are you just seeing Avast in control panel ?
The fixlog stated that it could not find one of the program files folders (this was your problem by the way)
Lets try one more time

Fixed succesfully this time but uninstall process still crashes… same damn error:
The stub cannot run uninstaller/updater executable (code 0x3).
Is there any other option to uninstall the Avast manually?
Thanks

Is there any other option to uninstall the Avast manually? Ofcourse there is.
Remove all files folders and registry entries manually.
This is the problem :
“C:\Program Files\AVAST Software” => File/Folder not found.
Avast was somehow installed in two different folders. I have deleted the other one and all associated files
Could you manually try to remove this one
