Unable to uninstall or install Avast!

Hello. Getting the “the stub cannot run installer/updater” message. Yes, I’ve tried removing manually. Yes, I’ve tried in safe mode. Yes, I’ve tried the tool. Would just like some help removing it.

It is no surprise you are having problems as Avast has been installed on a different partition

This will need to be run from safe mode

It is still showing up in my programs and features and I am unable to reinstall or uninstall it from there.

Try to uninstall from there and windows should offer to remove the entry

If not then run the removal tool from safe mode

I guess so yeah. I just was moving things around and noticed that - however, there’s an entire Avast! folder which I can’t do anything with which is still full.

Edit: and when I try to delete it it just says its in use by another program.

Bear in mind that any antivirus will always perform better if it is on the main partition where it expects to be. These sort of problems can then be avoided
