Anyone else not able to update today?
It stops on Download file: servers.def.vpx.dld (1st step)
Reports “Error: HTTP server returned error”, the server in question is shown as “http://r2934821.u.avast.com/ivps9x”

Is this on the auto updates or doing a manual update from the User Interface ?
I’m sure I have seen this somewhere in the forums before - though I’m not sure if it related to the beta build.
Presumably manual update as that is where I get an error, but it is also reporting the version is up to date, which would seem strange if it can’t connect to confirm, etc. Though checking my win7 system using 9.0.2021 that has VPS 140901-1.
I also see that it is looking in the avast9 server but I think that really should be different for the beta of avast10.
Yes, same issue also. After initiating manual update of vps 140831-1 get same http error
Says stated vps is up to date.\
xpSP4 32Bit
Wait just got popup saying vps needs updating
Now stuck on “initializing, please wait”
Yey, I’ll try later
Edit: Something amiss now as Avastsvc.exe cpu now high and hasn’t resolved itself so decided to reboot, see what results.
It has been this way for 2 days now. Can someone check this because it’s not updating at all.
I’m getting the streaming updates. But not the “regular” vps updates.
When I try to do a manual update it freezes.
Yeh, streaming updates has been consistent here but as has been pointed out no ‘regular vps update’ :-\
I’m having the same issue about the regular vps updates also but the Streaming Updates are working good here.
Same here. My definition stopped at 140831-0, so it’s not definition number related.
And yes, streaming update seems working fine.
I just received the following pop-up:

Pressing on the Update now button results in the following

same error to me, and for the same file !!
Should be resolved soon hopefully.
For now I’m updating manually scaricandomi definitions from here:
http://www.avast.com/it-it/download-thank-you.php?product=VPS9&locale=it-it
we hope for a quick fix
What’s the point when you should be getting the streaming updates (unless you aren’t getting them) like the rest of us - essentially it is a collation of these streaming updates that would be in the VPS updates.
the solution I suggested does not solve the problem but allows you to update Avast however the fact that there version of the site while 140902-0 avast is the one that you are unable to automatically download is the 140831-1
The problem is however still present !!

As David already explained that as long as you’re getting the streaming updates, you already have the same protection only in small increments.
Still not working…
I just received 140902-1 around 5 minutes ago.
